CNC Machinist (Joinery)

  • £37,000 (dependent on experience)
  • 08:00 to 17:00, 40 hours per week 
  • Overtime available

Are you a skilled CNC machinist with a passion for woodworking? Are you able to operate a variety of woodworking machinery to produce parts for joinery? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are currently recruiting for a CNC Machinist to join a well-established joinery company based in Kent. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for producing high-quality parts for joinery using a variety of woodworking machinery. You will be working from joinery construction drawings and cutting lists, so attention to detail is key.

Duties as a CNC Machinist:

  • You will be responsible for setting up and operating machines to produce product with consistent results that meet specifications and expected high-quality standards. Therefore, we are looking for someone who has excellent technical skills and the ability to produce work with precision.
  • Your role will also involve quality control checks on all machined parts and components to ensure the highest of standards. You will be required to work collaboratively with the draughting and assembly teams to ensure machined parts meet required details and specifications.
  • The successful CNC Machinist will have a sound understanding of safe operating procedures for the machinery used, and you will be responsible for complying with H&S requirements and Safe Systems of Work. You will also be required to report machinery and product faults to management. 

To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • A proven track record as a CNC Machinist, specifically within a joinery or woodworking environment
  • Experience in operating a variety of machinery, including crosscut saws, re-saws, thicknessers, spindle moulders, morticers, tenoners, panel saws, edge banders, and CNC machines
  • The ability to read and interpret joinery construction drawings and cutting lists
  • Excellent technical skills and the ability to produce work with precision
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • A sound understanding of safe operating procedures for woodworking machinery
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
