As a CNC Setter, you will be responsible for programming and the setup for CNC to complete a new product or different functions, ensuring the change of tooling of the CNC machine. Machines must be observed while operating to verify the accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining. This role will also include monitoring the work such as testing and taking critical measurements to identify problems. 

For a CNC setter, the role is part of the whole organisation team and plays a big part in promoting, developing, and expanding the business of an engineering organisation. In your role, you will be praised after performing to your best ability when carrying out your duties. This role requires being in a team therefore you should be friendly and have good communication skills. 

The role of a CNC Setter offers potential growth and promotion for the right person. With this career path, you can progress to a supervisory role, quality inspection, or become an engineering technician. 

Typically, the hours of work are 8 am to 4 pm however you will be expected to work as and when necessary to meet the needs of the team and your targets, you will be expected to work days, nights, and weekends depending on a rota basis. Salaries range between £25,000-£27,000 per annum depending on experience.
