As a Lathe Turner, your responsibilities are to load and unload parts, distinguishing and identify proper tooling/collets/fixtures. Programming and setting up CNC to complete new products and different functions, maintain accurate data/records/documentation associated systems responsibly use resources, and control expenses to meet agreed budgeting controls. 

The role is part of the whole organisation team and such requires you to perform, promote, develop and expand the business of the Engineering Organisation. You must carry out duties to the best of your ability as well as have consideration for your colleagues, the Organisation, and its clients. 

Some more essential abilities are; a full driving license Is needed, excellent attention to detail, time management, and task management skills and experience. 

The role of a Lathe Turner has the opportunity to progress to a Shift Supervisor or Department Supervisor and eventually become Production Manager. As you can see there are many options you can take when the Lathe Turner path. 

Typically, they work 40hrs/Week or a 2-3 shift pattern including nights, weekends, and holidays. Salaries range between £23,000-£29,000 per annum depending on experience.
