As an Installation Engineer, there are many responsibilities such as installing equipment, risk assessments, good communicating skills, ability to work as part of a team, some strong organisation skills would help keep the work area clean and lastly attention to detail when performing a task. 
 
Some of the skills and requirements needed for the job role are; having strong computer skills, being professional, approachable and patient when dealing with customers, project management skills as well as strong problem-solving skills. Lastly, self-motivation and good listening skills are needed for the job so you don’t get demotivated. 

In this role there are a few pathways you can take when working as an Installation Engineer, a Team Leader or Supervisory role would be the next move from an Installation Engineer, then this role can be used as a steppingstone into a senior management role further down the line. 

Usually, an Installation Engineer works a total of 40-50hrs/Week due to working nights, meeting deadlines or having to do urgent check-ups in the work area. Salaries range between £30,000-£40,000 depending on experience.
