As a Draughtsman many responsibilities need to be considered such as; following specifications and calculations to create various technical drawings, communicating with architects and engineers, incorporating knowledge gained into drawings, and identifying and communicating potential design problems to the rest of the team. 

Some skills and requirements are; a bachelor of science in engineering or architecture. A degree from a technical college is also acceptable, with experience in computer-aided design and drafting (CADD). The skills require the ability to draw, the ability to work well in a team and on your own, and the ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.

Generally, a Draughtsman works a total of 40-45hrs/Week as well as offers overtime. Salaries range between £27,000-£42,000 per annum depending on experience.
