As a Quantity Surveyor, there are many responsibilities including the following; reviewing construction plans and preparing quantity requirements, scrutinising maintenance and material costs, as well as contracts to ensure the best deals. Establishing and maintaining professional relationships with external and internal stakeholders will also include travelling to various sites as required. 

Some skills and requirements needed are; Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, engineering, management or similar, construction estimating or finance experience is advantageous. Some key skills are strong analytical and critical thinking skills, excellent negotiating and interpersonal skills, and a valid driver’s licence.
